Olacabs was founded in 2011 by two IIT Bombay alumni Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bati and integrates car transportation, be it point-to-point services within a city, hour-based rental services or outstation travel, onto a technology platform, ensuring convenient, transparent and quick service fulfillment for the customer. Currently, Olacabs currently operates in Mumbai and plans to expand its services to 10 other Indian cities within the current fiscal year.
If you have a smar phone, you can download the Olacab tracking application, by which you can easily point and click on the nearest cab from a map of your city. The application provides users instant confirmation of booking along with necessary details like the name of the cab driver and vehicle number, distance from the user’s location as well as expected time taken to reach the location.
The application on smart phone also tracks and shows the real time movement of the cab from its location to the location of the customer, on a map. The cab service also has iPhone and Android application already launched and will soon start its Blackberry app.
Registered users can also maintain a credit balance with Olacabs and use the service through the app as and when needed, without having to pay for the trip. Olacabs can also be booked through the internet and customer service centres (phone). The service also allows flexible options for bookings and payments.
